About One-Plate®

Since the 1950s, EN has been used on a global industrial scale. Over these many decades, the plating industry has traditionally utilized EN systems consisting of three chemical solutions (typically called A, B, and C). Surface Technology, Inc. (STI) has revolutionized the way EN is made with the introduction of One-Plate® EN solutions.

What makes One-Plate® so superior to all other EN is that One-Plate® systems only need one single component (Q) to make up and replenish the EN bath, not three. There are One-Plate® solutions for low, medium, and high phosphorous EN. These solutions are “made by platers for platers” to work the way they should in real plating shop conditions. Contact STI or any of the outstanding suppliers of One-Plate® to experience the many benefits of these solutions including:

  • Just one product to order, ship, stock

  • Savings on time, labor, energy, and lab work, due to the ease of using a single component

  • A drop-in solution for existing plating shop tanks and processes

  • Easier replenishing that improves bath performance and coating quality

  • Higher quality and consistency as all chemical ingredients in the bath stay in balance

  • Long bath life thanks to consistent chemistry

  • Double the life of high phosphorous baths and cut the waste in half

  • Full or partial self-pH maintaining solutions

  • RoHS, ELV, REACH and similar regulations compliant

  • Meet or exceed MIL-C-26074-D, AMS 2404, and other specifications

  • Environmental benefits from a lower nickel concentration which reduces drag out and waste at end of the bath life

  • Patented around the world

  • Options for advanced electroless nickel applications, including:

    • Ability to use One-Plate® baths for composite coating with PTFE, diamond, silicon carbide, boron nitride and other particles, including the most advanced processes for EN-PTFE as in the following article: Click Here

    • Using a single replenishment pump for the single component rather than pouring or pumping multiple components

    • Ease of operating the bath in a "Bleed and Feed" method for consistent plating and perpetual bath life, as highlighted in the following article: Click Here

Composite EN Coatings

Another exciting benefit of One-Plate® systems is that composite dispersions may be added to the above baths to produce EN coatings with particles such as:

These materials can enhance or add new properties to the EN coatings such as higher friction and grip, lower friction and release, increased hardness, greater wear resistance, and many more. Please contact a supplier of One-Plate® for more information.
